Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
  • 5+ years of Experience in sourcing (specifically in automotive electronics or electrical parts such as VCU, HMI, chargers, wiring harnesses, and other auto electrical components).
  • Strong knowledge of supply market dynamics, commodity strategies, and risk mitigation.
  • Basic understanding of precision molding, stamping, electronics, cable assemblies, and plating technologies.

Responsibilities

Supplier Identification and Development:

  • Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers (Electrical) to meet business requirements.
  • Assess new suppliers for suitability and approve their addition to the supply base.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate supplier-related risks.

Sourcing and Procurement:

  • Develop RFQs with cross-functional teams and oversee supplier selection for NPI and migration projects.
  • Manage PR/PO processes for NPI parts, tooling, and samples.
  • Negotiate and execute contracts, including master purchasing agreements, quality assurance contracts, NDAs, and consignment contracts.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through cost analysis, demand forecasting, and market trends while addressing supplier cost increases.

Cost Optimization and Value Engineering:

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and lead VA/VE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) projects.
  • Perform cost/price analysis with total cost of ownership as the objective.

Supplier Performance Management:

  • Lead quarterly supplier scorecard reviews to monitor and improve supplier performance in quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Work with the quality team to address supplier quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support the material team in managing supplier delivery schedules and pull-in requirements.

Engineering Collaboration:

  • Handle engineering evaluation requests with the engineering team for new components.
  • Manage Engineering Change (EC) processes, including PR/PO management and sample qualification.

Contract Management:

  • Develop and execute contracts in compliance with organizational requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to sourcing and supply chain policies, with a focus on savings targets.

Market Research and Data Analysis:

  • Conduct data mining and analysis to generate clear, actionable reports.
  • Stay updated on supply market trends, risks, and opportunities within direct commodities.
